Shopware 5 reached end of life in July 2024.
Not a deadline coming up, one that passed a while ago: there are no new Shopware 5 releases, and security holes are closed only reactively. A shop still running on 5 is a shop nobody is developing any more.
- A move, not an update
- Shopware 6 was rebuilt from scratch. There is no button that turns a 5 into a 6 – data, templates and processes are carried across, not inherited.
- Your plugins do not come with you
- Shopware 5 licences cannot be transferred, and not every extension has a successor. We go through your plugin list before anything is touched.
- Shopware will not migrate for you
- Shopware provides the Migration Assistant but explicitly does not run the migration itself. That is partner work – which is exactly what we do.
- Your rankings stay put
- Redirects, URL structure and metadata are planned up front, not repaired afterwards. A relaunch should not cost you visibility.

How long does a Shopware project take?
Depending on scope, anywhere from six weeks for a focused relaunch to several months for complex custom projects. After our first call, you'll get a realistic timeline.
What happens if we stay on Shopware 5?
The shop keeps running, but it stops receiving new versions. Since end of life in July 2024, security holes are closed only reactively, and new extensions are no longer released for 5. For a shop that is making money that is not an emergency – but it is not something to sit on indefinitely either.
Do you take over existing shops and handle migrations?
Yes. We migrate existing shops – including from other platforms – cleanly onto Shopware, without disrupting your day-to-day business.
What does a Shopware shop with you cost?
It depends on scope. After a short first conversation, you'll get a transparent quote with no hidden costs.
What is Pickware, and do I need it?
Pickware connects warehouse management, shipping, and accounting directly to your shop. It's worth it once you no longer want to manage those processes manually or across several separate tools.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes, we support shops long-term – from updates and new features to fast support for day-to-day issues.
Do you only work with clients in Berlin?
Our studio is based in Berlin, but we support clients across the country. In-person meetings are of course also possible locally.
